CSL Research Acceleration Initiative 2026
November 4, 2025This event, promoted by the TMELab group, will showcase the latest progress in models Organ-on-Chip and will include a practical introductory workshop on this technology
La Spanish Society of Microphysiology and Organ-on-Chip (SESMOoC) will be held in Zaragoza on the days November 24 and 25, 2025 su first national day, a meeting that will bring together specialists and research groups from all over the country linked to technology Organ-on-Chip already the microphysiological systems. During the 1st SESMOoC Conference The latest advances in the development and application of models will be presented. Organ-on-Chip, devices that reproduce the functions of human organs on a microscopic scale and that represent an innovative, precise and sustainable alternative to traditional experimental models.
Also, the day November 25th It will be held workshop “Introduction to Organ-on-a-Chip (OoC) Technology”a practical session taught by Teodora Randelovic, postdoctoral researcher at TMElab, and Alodia Lacueva, a postdoctoral researcher and technical manager of the Aragon Preclinical Support Unit (UAPA) at the IIS Aragon. The workshop will include demonstrations on the use of out-of-consumption (OoC) devices and perfusion systems. The session will be held in the R&D building of the Ebro River Campus (Mariano Esquillor, s/n, Zaragoza).
Registration open until November 7th
Registration for both the conference and the workshop is done through the society's official website: https://sesmooc.comThe SESMOoC is driven by the group TMELab (Tissue Microenvironment Engineering Lab), a joint research team of Aragón Health Research Institute (IIS Aragón) and the Engineering Research Institute of Aragon (I3A) from the University of Zaragoza. Under the coordination of Ignacio Ochoa GarridoThe group leads this new scientific society which seeks to strengthen collaboration, training and visibility of the work carried out in Spain in the field of microphysiology and technologies Organ-on-ChipThe birth of SESMOoC from Zaragoza reinforces the role of Aragonese research in a cutting-edge field with great potential to transform biomedical research and the development of new treatments.
