ERC-2026-AdGThis call for proposals is aimed at leading and established researchers with a proven track record of recognized research achievements over the past ten years. These grants fund cutting-edge research projects in any field of knowledge, supporting ambitious, innovative, and high-risk ideas with the potential to generate transformative scientific advances.
The grants can reach up to €2,5 million over 5 years, with additional funding available in certain justified circumstances. The call for proposals maintains its exclusive focus on the scientific excellence of the principal investigator and the proposal.

| | ERC Plus Grant 2026 – New call from the European Research Council
El ERC-2026-PLUS This is a new instrument designed to fund cutting-edge research projects with a highly transformative character and a long-term scientific vision. The call is aimed at outstanding researchers from any discipline who present a transformative scientific vision that exceeds the scope of conventional ERC funding models, and it will support ideas that go beyond the reach of traditional ERC grants.
Projects may receive up to €7 million over a period of 4 to 7 years through lump-sum funding. Around 30 grants are expected to be awarded in this first edition, making it a highly competitive call for proposals.

| | MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026
Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding researchers with a maximum of [number] years of research experience. 8 years in the Making after their doctorate, that they carry out international mobility (not having resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the beneficiary entity (or of the partner entity for the exit phase in Global Fellowships) during more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the closing date of the call for proposals). Applications must be submitted jointly by the researcher and a beneficiary entity from the academic or non-academic sector.
Postdoctoral Fellowships can be carried out in Europe (i.e., in an EU Member State or in a Horizon Europe Associated Country) or in a Third Country not associated with Horizon Europe:
- European Postdoctoral FellowshipsThese grants are open to researchers of any nationality who wish to participate in R&D projects, whether coming to Europe from anywhere in the world or relocating within Europe. The standard duration of these grants is between 12 and 24 months.
- Global Postdoctoral Fellowships: These fellowships are open to European nationals or long-term residents who wish to participate in R&D&I projects with organizations outside the EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. These fellowships require an initial period abroad of a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 24 months in a non-associated third country, and a mandatory 12-month return period to a host organization located in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country.

ERC-2026-PoCThis call for proposals is exclusively for researchers who have previously received ERC funding and wish to explore the innovation, transfer, or social impact potential of their research results. These grants fund activities such as proof-of-concept testing, technology validation, prototype development, market research, and intellectual property strategies that bring scientific results closer to the market or society.
The funding consists of a one-time grant of €150.000 for projects lasting up to 18 months.

| | MSCA Doctoral Networks 2026
The MSCA Doctoral Networks will implement doctoral programs developed by consortia of universities, research institutions and scientific infrastructures, businesses—including SMEs—and other socioeconomic actors from various countries in Europe and beyond. These networks are open to the participation of organizations from third countries, with the aim of fostering international strategic alliances for the training and exchange of researchers.
The doctoral programs will address clearly identified needs in various research and innovation fields, exposing researchers to both the academic and non-academic sectors. They will also offer training in research-related skills and key transversal competencies for innovation and long-term employability, such as entrepreneurship, commercialization of results, intellectual property rights management, and scientific communication. Doctoral network proposals may be based on existing or planned research collaborations among participating organizations.

EIC Pathfinder Challenges It funds early-stage, interdisciplinary, and high-risk research projects aimed at specific technological challenges defined by the European Innovation Council. The objective is to develop the scientific basis of disruptive technologies with the potential to open new innovation and market opportunities. The proposals will be integrated into thematic portfolios managed by the EIC Programme Managers. Indicative funding may reach approximately 4 millones de euros By projectDepending on the challenge. • Advanced Materials for Miniaturized Energy Harvesting Systems: development of advanced materials for miniaturized energy harvesting systems, with potential applications in point-of-care diagnostics, smart cities and sustainable Internet of Things.

| | | | TRANSCAN-4 JTC 2026: International Call for Cancer Research
TRANSCAN-4 has published its first call for translational research: JTC-2026 “Translational Research on Cancer Metabolism: Multidisciplinary Approaches for Diagnosis and Treatment.” The call seeks to foster new collaborations between researchers and clinicians and support original projects with high translational potential in cancer metabolism. Proposals must address at least one of the following objectives: (1) improving cancer diagnosis and monitoring through metabolic biomarkers; or (2) identifying metabolic vulnerabilities to improve precision medicine. The Spanish funding partners are the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (FCAECC) and the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).

| | ERDERA Clinical Trial Call 2026
The European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA) has launched its first Clinical Trial Call 2026, aimed at funding early-stage interventional clinical trials (Phase I, I/II, and III), multinational in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, in the field of rare diseases. The call will support the clinical development of innovative therapies, including small molecules, biologics, advanced therapies (ATMPs), and drug repurposing strategies. International consortia and collaboration among researchers, clinicians, patients, and European clinical research networks are encouraged. The program also includes methodological and regulatory support for selected projects.

| | Innovative Health Initiative – IHI Call 13
The Innovative Health Initiative has launched the IHI Call 13A two-phase call for proposals focused on collaborative healthcare innovation. The call will be structured in two phases and will address thematic areas of strategic interest for health research and innovation:
• European network to drive the next generation of healthcare innovations.
• Artificial intelligence-based toxicology model and framework to support drug safety studies.
• Understanding the immunoscience of age-related immune-mediated diseases.
This may be of interest to groups with experience in healthcare innovation, clinical validation, artificial intelligence applied to health, aging, immunology, knowledge transfer, and collaboration with industry.

The Global Health EDCTP3 joint venture has published its 2026 Work Programme, which makes up to €147 million available to fund research and innovation projects in global health, with a particular focus on infectious diseases affecting sub-Saharan Africa and other regions. In addition, there are two Coordination and Support Action (CSA) themes:
• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-03-SERP-01: Training and innovation networks for sustained capacity development related to ethics, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and related digital regulatory platforms.
• HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2026-03-DIGIT-02: Enhancing integrated research and healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa through digital innovation and Artificial Intelligence.

The European Commission has launched a new call for the designation of EU Reference Laboratories (EURLs) in public health, as part of its efforts to strengthen surveillance and response to health threats. The calls cover four priority areas:
- Clostridioides difficult - Sexually transmitted bacteria - Mycobacteria - Invasive bacterial infections
These laboratories will provide technical support to Member States in diagnostics, testing methods and harmonization of epidemiological surveillance.
The applications are addressed to EU/EEA public health laboratories.

| | Digital Europe Programme - 2026 Calls for Proposals Related to Digital Health
The Digital Europe Programme has published new calls for proposals with open application periods between April 21 and October 1, 2026. Among them are several opportunities related to digital health, artificial intelligence in healthcare, medical imaging and the reuse of health data.
• DIGITAL-2026-AI-PILOTING-10-SCREENING – AI: Continent: Pilot projects for medical imaging screening, especially in cancer and cardiovascular diseases, in real clinical settings.
• DIGITAL-2026-SKILLS-10-DIGITAL-HEALTH-STEP – Advanced Digital Skills for AI Uptake in Health: educational and training programs to promote the adoption of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector.
• DIGITAL-2026-BESTUSE-10-EHDS: development of capacities for the deployment of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format and digital health services linked to the European Health Data Space.
These calls for proposals may be of interest to research groups, hospitals, innovation units, data platforms, medical imaging, AI applied to health, and specialized training.

| | COST Action HAPLO-iPS – Mobility in iPSC therapies
The COST Action HAPLO-iPS offers funding opportunities for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) for researchers working with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). These short stays allow researchers to acquire new techniques, foster international collaborations, and advance the standardization of methodologies in regenerative medicine. COST Open Call 2026 – New COST Stocks
The COST program – European Cooperation in Science and Technology – will open its call for proposals for new COST Actions in the summer of 2026. These actions fund international networks of scientific and technological collaboration, facilitating meetings, short stays, training, dissemination activities, and the creation of research communities.
COST Actions are especially useful for groups seeking to position themselves internationally, consolidate European networks, prepare future proposals for Horizon Europe, or connect with academic, clinical, technological, and social actors from different countries.

| | | Interreg Sudoe – 3rd Call for Capitalization Projects
Interreg Sudoe has launched its 3rd Call for Capitalization Projects, aimed at maximizing the impact of results obtained in projects funded in the periods 2014-2020 and 2021-2027. The projects must analyze, synthesize, transfer and disseminate results already generated, promoting their integration into European public policies and institutional networks.
The call for proposals focuses on three thematic areas: water resource management, agricultural and forestry resources and sectors, and population aging. Consortia must bring together research stakeholders, public administrations, specialized entities, and thematic networks. The available ERDF budget amounts to €5,36 million. Projects will be implemented between January 2027 and October 2029.

| | Interreg Sudoe – 4th Call for Structuring Projects
Interreg Sudoe has launched its 4th Call for Structuring Projects, aimed at developing high-impact transnational solutions to two priority challenges in the SUDOE region: fire prevention and management, and population aging. These initiatives must generate lasting changes in public policy, promote the adoption of validated solutions, and facilitate their large-scale transfer. One project per theme will be funded, with ERDF funding of €5,77 million for fire prevention and €3 million for population aging. Projects must demonstrate territorial impact, transferability, and sustainability beyond European funding.

| | EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships
The EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships fund international postdoctoral stays in the life sciences with the aim of promoting scientific excellence and the mobility of researchers between leading institutions. The fellowships last from 12 to 24 months and include funding for salary, travel and relocation expenses, as well as access to training, leadership, and networking activities organized by EMBO.
Candidates must have an excellent scientific record and submit an original research proposal within EMBO's research areas. The call for applications is open year-round, and applications are evaluated in two annual rounds.
