ERC-2026-CoGThese grants are open to researchers of any nationality with 7-12 years of experience since completing their doctorate.
ERC Consolidator Grants are designed to support outstanding Principal Investigators who are at a stage in their career where they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the innovative character, ambition and feasibility of their research proposal.

The European association ERA4Health has launched its seventh Joint Transnational Call (JTC 2026), Trials4Health, aimed at funding investigator-initiated multicenter clinical trials (IICS) in cardiovascular, autoimmune and metabolic diseases.
The objective is to support pragmatic randomized studies comparing the effectiveness and/or repurposing of drugs, promoting transnational collaboration between clinical and public health teams.

| | EP PerMed: Research Innovation and Technology Call for Proposals (RITC) 2026
Test and Demonstration of Multimodal Data Approaches for Personalized Medicine (MultiPMData2026)
This call seeks to bring together companies and clinical stakeholders (healthcare providers, patients, and researchers) to test innovative solutions in controlled, real-world settings, with the goal of improving the management of multimorbidity.
EP PerMed will fund projects focused on the use of multimodal data to provide more efficient and personalized management for patients with at least two chronic diseases. Projects must test and develop mature solutions in real-world settings, adopt a systemic approach, and integrate six key elements (knowledge, technology, infrastructure, business models, policies, organization, and values). Proposals must include a clear strategy for multimodal health data management.
Consortia must have a clinical partner and at least one SME or industrial partner. Clinical studies can be funded, but not large clinical trials.

| | Twinning Call 2026 - Advancing Collaborative Implementation of Personalized Medicine Approaches in Healthcare
The European initiative EP PerMed has launched the 2026 Twinning Call, aimed at accelerating the transfer of personalized medicine solutions between institutions in different countries through Twinning partnerships. These partnerships facilitate the exchange of best practices and capabilities in personalized medicine, with a direct impact on patient care. The call offers funding of up to β¬50.000 per partnership for exchange activities lasting 6β12 months and requires transnational consortia composed of one donor and one or two recipients. A matchmaking webinar (January 15, 2026) has been organized to help interested parties connect with potential partners and present their approaches or needs in personalized medicine before preparing their proposals. The aim of this call is to improve therapeutic success rates in patients, animals, and plants affected by bacterial or fungal infections, offering new treatment options and, at the same time, reducing the risk of resistance emerging in the various settings of the approach.One healthΒ».
The call is co-financed by the European Union and has the participation of 37 funding organizations from 28 countries, with a total estimated budget of over 31 million euros.
Also participating in this call for proposals, as national and regional funding bodies, are the Aragonese Institute of Health Sciences (IACS), The State Research Agency (AEI) And the Carlos III Health Institute (ISC III).

| | JTC 2026 - Access to Care
The European Association Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) has launched its fourth Joint Transnational Call (JTC 2026), aimed at funding research and innovation projects focused on ensuring equitable access to health and care services, as well as providing policymakers and decision-makers with the tools and evidence to implement an efficient redistribution of resources in transforming healthcare systems. This call involves 32 funding agencies, with an indicative budget of β¬35 million (In Spain: the Andalusian Regional Government's Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs, the MarquΓ©s de Valdecilla Research Institute, and the Carlos III Health Institute).
The selected projects must propose innovative solutions that contribute to reducing inequalities in access to and use of health and care services, through new financial models, innovative service delivery models, and interdisciplinary integrated care programs.

The European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA) is launching its joint transnational call for proposals in December 2026, "Resolving unsolved cases in rare genetic and non-genetic diseases".
The call focuses on providing diagnostic clarity to cases of rare diseases, both genetic and non-genetic, that remain undiagnosed despite previous studies.

β’ Integrated multi-omics approaches and advanced bioinformatics and AI tools.

| | Networking Support Scheme (NSS)
Ongoing call for proposals to fund international networking events on rare diseases and rare cancers. The program supports up to β¬30.000 per event, aimed at strengthening research networks, promoting knowledge exchange, and encouraging the participation of underrepresented countries (UCs).
You can apply to researchers, clinicians, research managers, and patient organizations. Each event must include participants from at least three eligible countries and must have at least one applicant from a UC country.
The application period is open continuously until 2029, with semi-annual evaluations.

| | IHI Call 12 β Driving innovation for a competitive European health ecosystem
The European Innovative Health Initiative (IHI JU) has published the final version of the text for IHI Call 12, scheduled for launch in early 2026. This single-phase call is aligned with the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and is based on an applicant-led approach. Projects must address unmet public health needs through ambitious, cross-sectoral public-private partnerships with a clear impact on society, the economy, and science. As with previous IHI calls, at least 50% of the budget must be covered by in-kind contributions from industry. The final call themes are detailed below:

Through this call, basic research projects (Scientific call) or clinical research projects (Medical call) in the field of neuromuscular disorders will be funded.
This scholarship is intended to support:
β’ Young researchers in the early stages of their professional career (with permanent or temporary positions), β’ Innovative or high-risk projects in their early stages, but with potential for innovation. For these projects, providing preliminary data is not mandatory.
Applicants must be young researchers with a doctoral degree obtained within the last ten years.
It is recommended to include a French institution as part of the proposal.

| | INTER-LOCAL: International clinical trials in rare or difficult-to-treat cancers
The INTER-LOCAL call for proposals is now open for its first edition, aiming to promote international multicenter clinical trials (phase II or III) focused on local treatments based on surgery or radiotherapy for rare cancers or cancers with low survival rates. The AECC Scientific Foundation, together with funding entities from Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway, seeks to support collaborative projects that improve treatment options for these patients.
Consortia with at least three participating funding countries may apply for funding; additional centers in other countries may be included to expedite recruitment. Proposals must originate from the academic or clinical field and require active patient participation in their design and implementation.

This call for proposals will fund research projects with a translational or preclinical focus on Fragile X, with the potential to produce an improvement in the treatment of this disease.

This call will allow researchers in relatively early stages of their careers to carry out research projects with potential impact on leukemia research.
The grant covers expenses related to the execution of the project, not the PI's salary.
Requirements. Applicants must:
β’ Please note that applicants do not need to be U.S. citizens. Research projects from outside the United States are welcome.
β’ Hold a position as an independent researcher in a non-profit academic entity at the time of application.
β’ Applicants must be researchers with less than seven years in their first position as an independent researcher at the start date of the grant. Years as resident physicians, fellows, or postdoctoral fellows are considered training years and are not included in the seven-year calculation. Adjustments may be made for career interruptions (e.g., family leave, military service, or illness).

The Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) will hold its IHI Call Days for Call 12 on January 19 and 20, 2026, in an online format. These webinars will provide key information about the call: financial aspects, participation guidelines, procedures, and general guidance for preparing competitive proposals.
The IHI 12 call invites innovative projects that address key health challenges in Europe and respond to patient needs, in line with IHI's Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). This is a single-stage call, meaning that proposals must guarantee that at least 50% of project costs are covered by in-kind contributions from IHI's industry members and, where applicable, contributing partners.

On January 20, 2026, the European Commission will organize Info Days dedicated to Horizon Europe Missions for the upcoming 2026 calls for proposals. In a 100% online format, funding opportunities linked to all European missions, including the Cancer mission, will be presented.
Participation offers an excellent opportunity to learn in detail about the thematic challenges, the rules of participation and cross-cutting synergies, as well as to advance the planning of international collaborative proposals.

26-30/01/2026 Cluster Health Horizon Europe Brokerage Event 2026
From January 26 to 30, 2026, the Horizon Europe Health Cluster Brokerage Event will take place, organized by HNN 3.0, the European Commission, and the Enterprise Europe Network. This event aims to facilitate the creation of consortia for the 2026 calls of the 2026-2027 Health Work Programme. This international meeting, held before the Cluster Health INFODAY on February 10, 2026, gives interested parties more time to identify partners and prepare competitive proposals.
The event is free, but requires registration and profile activation, including at least one collaboration offer or request in the Marketplace section, aligned with the topics of interest. Registration must be completed in English, and profile validation may require adjustments requested by the organizers.
Target audience: entities eligible for Horizon Europe (universities, research centers, companies, hospitals, public administrations, NGOs, patient associations, etc.).

05/02/2026 Global Health EDCTP3 - Info Day 2026
The Global Health EDCTP3 partnership is holding its 2026 Info Day online. The event will offer a detailed overview of the topics in the 2026 Work Programme, application procedures, evaluation criteria, and a live Q&A session with partnership representatives.
The event will also include online networking sessions to identify partners and explore collaborations in global health research. Registered participants will gain immediate access to the EDCTP3 networking platform, where they can already present project ideas and showcase their group's expertise.
