ISIDORE - CALLS FOR PROPOSALS

RESPIRATORY PATHOGENS: a large number of pathogens target the human respiratory tract, resulting in a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations including life-threatening acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). While serious respiratory infections are predominantly caused by RNA viruses, other types of pathogens can be involved. The modes of transmission of respiratory pathogens often give them a significant epidemic potential.

The ISIDORe consortium supports scientists with an interest in these respiratory pathogens.

Researchers are invited to submit any proposal that Is focused on at least one eligible respiratory pathogen, excluding SARS-CoV-2 (see below and full ISIDORe PPP list).

VECTOR-BORNE PATHOGENS & THEIR VECTORS: the geographic and host ranges of vector-borne diseases are expanding, mostly due to anthropogenic factors. With rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, the risk of these diseases affecting increasingly large areas of the world will continue to rise, as reflected by the record number cases of dengue (including non-imported ones) and West Nile virus observed in Europe in 2022.
The ISIDORe consortium supports scientists with an interest in the causative agents and vectors of these fast-spreading diseases.
Researchers are invited to submit any proposal that Is focused on at least one eligible vector-borne pathogen (see below and full ISIDORe PPP list).

OTHER PATHOGENS WITH EPIDEMIC POTENTIAL: will the next global infectious threat be an orthopoxvirus, or an enterovirus? Will it be even caused by a known pathogen? Can we be ready for the next pathogen
The ISIDORe consortium supports scientists with an interest in epidemic-prone pathogens, including pathogen X.
Researchers are invited to submit any proposal that Is focused on pathogen X or at least one of the three pathogen classes specifically identified in this call.

ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION

This Request for Proposals (RFP) invites applications that seek to better understand and predict the progression of RA, including from pre-RA to clinical RA, and progression to more severe disease. Competitive projects should aim to define risk factors/biomarkers of disease progression, pathogenic mechanisms, and approaches to prevent or slow RA disease onset and progression. The long-term goal of this AF research program is to reduce the incidence of RA and slow disease progression. The funding for this initiative will be provided by the 2024 Arthritis Foundation's Science Budget.

CDTI-SOST Brussels T3 Mondays
From May 6 to July 8, 2024 | Learn more

10 60-minute webinars where staff from the EC and its Executive Agencies in charge of the CONNECTED Programs with Horizon Europe will be invited.
On March 20, 2024, the Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission published the strategic programming document of the Framework Program for the period 2025-2027 “Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027”. This document links EU policies and priorities with the activities that will subsequently be implemented through Horizon Europe work programs and calls between 2025 and 2027.
In this strategic plan, one of the highlighted aspects are the synergies or “CONNECTIONS” of Horizon Europe with other EU actions, programs and initiatives to maximize the impact of resources dedicated to R&I at both public and private levels.
In practice, for each of the Pillar II Clusters, a series of European programs are identified that CONNECT fully or partially with them, either in terms of the subject matter of research, or in terms of the target audience that benefits from the results of the I +I done.

A better knowledge of these CONNECTIONS, as well as the characteristics and differences of these programs with respect to Horizon Europe, will contribute to strengthening the strategic positioning of the Spanish entities participating in the framework program in two fundamental aspects:

  • better understand and guide their participation in the Clusters and
  • improve the design of the impact of your projects and, in particular, their transfer of results.

In summary, these webinars will expand the complete vision of the value chain and improve the quality of the proposals, giving them greater visibility in terms of their R&I journey. In addition, they will allow updating and unifying the information related to those “CONNECTED” programs with Horizon Europe which, to a large extent, represent either the natural continuation of said projects in terms of transfer to the market or operational implementation, or the seed for subsequent projects. collaborative projects in Pillar II of Horizon Europe.
