13 May 2025The call is sponsored by the General Directorate of Care and Humanization and the IIS Aragón, with the collaboration of Roche. The deadline for submitting applications is June 24th, and professionals from the eight healthcare sectors in Aragón are eligible to participate.
The General Directorate of Care and Humanization of the Government of Aragon has called the 1st HumanizAR and CuidAR Awards for Aragon, a pioneering initiative aimed at recognize and promote projects that improve healthcare from a person-centered approach. The objective of these awards is to highlight best practices in humanization and care within the healthcare field, thus promoting patient-centered, more personal, and higher-quality care. They also seek to support the efforts of professionals in providing solutions that advance humanization in the healthcare system.
The Director General of Care and Humanization of the Department of Health, Estibaliz Toulouse, has pointed out that these awards, promoted in collaboration with the Health Research Institute of Aragon (IIS Aragón) and with the support of Roche, looking for make visible and reward the best initiatives that promote excellence, quality and humane treatment in care.
All healthcare professionals working in hospitals, departments, or units of hospitals and health centers in the following healthcare areas may apply for this award: Calatayud, Alcañiz, Barbastro, Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza Sector 1, Zaragoza Sector 2 and Zaragoza Sector 3.
As for the candidacies, they must detail projects developed or in development that fall into any of the following categories, demonstrating its impact on the humanization of care:
• Person-centered care.
• Quality of treatment.
• Information and communication.
• Security and confidence.
• Continuity and integration of care.
• External and internal accessibility.
• Comfort of the environments.
• Care in special situations.
• Participation and co-responsibility of citizens.
• Autonomy.
• Comprehensive care.
• Professionals, agents of humanization.
• Dignity and respect for people’s rights.
• Giving voice to people.
• Innovation and creativity in humanization and care.
A jury composed of leading healthcare professionals from Aragon will evaluate the projects based on criteria such as the value generated for people, relevance and transferability, and the involvement of management and professionals. The awards will be presented on September 25th.
Different awards will be given for each of the eight health sectors, adding up to a total of 8.000 euros in prizes (1.000 euros for the winning initiative in each sector) Aragon health) and will receive the institutional commitment to the advancement and implementation of good practices in humanization.

The call is aimed at healthcare professionals and teams in Aragon who have developed innovative and effective humanization projects.
In addition, they will be awarded honorable mentions for professional career.
