20 May 2022Launched in 2003, the Europe and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) was created to accelerate the clinical development of new or improved medicines for the identification, treatment and prevention of poverty-related and neglected infectious diseases, including (re)emerging diseases. In addition, EDCTP funds activities to develop research capacity in Africa, supporting the careers of researchers and strengthening national health research systems.
