Doctors Héctor Vallés Varela, Francisco Javier Castillo García and Dr. Isabel Calvo Cebollero, as well as Primary Care, have received the highest awards from the Zaragoza College of Physicians.
El Zaragoza Medical College (COMZ) celebrated this Friday the 'College Day', a ceremony in which he presented his highest distinctions to the doctors Héctor Vallés Varela, Francisco Javier Castillo García and Dr. Isabel Calvo Cebollero, as well as the entire Primary Care.
The institutional event, attended by the Minister of Health of the Government of Aragon, Sira Repollés, has put the finishing touch to the first COMZ Collegiate Week: five days full of activities to value the medical profession and the profession through cultural, educational and institutional activities. The president of the Zaragoza College of Physicians was also present., Javier García Tirado; the rector of the University of Zaragoza, Juan Antonio Mayoral; and the president of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Zaragoza, Luis Miguel Tobajas, among others.
Members' Day has also served to deliver the scholarships for training and research, as well as aid for cooperation projects and projects of scientific societies granted by the Zaragoza College of Physicians.
Dr. Isabel Calvo Cebollero received from the President of the Mutual Medical Foundation, Dr. Alejandro Andreu, the Mutual Médica Award for 'Professional Career Year 2021'. With this award, the work of Dr. Isabel Calvo in the implementation in our autonomous community of the 'Infarction Code Program', having thereby helped many people to have greater hope and quality of life.
Graduated in Medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 1977, Dr. Isabel Calvo Cebollero, Already retired, she was head of the Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology Unit and Head of the Cardiology Service of the Miguel Servet University Hospital. Pioneer in the world of hemodynamics with Dr. Carmen Alonso, Throughout her career she also promoted the Acute Myocardial Infarction Revascularization Treatment Program in Aragon (TRIAMAR), the Aragonese Women and Heart Program (PAMYC) and Parques con Corazón. Besides, He presided over the Aragonese Society of Cardiology and the Aragonese Heart Foundation.
The award for 'Most Distinguished Medical Team of the years 2020 and 2021' has gone to the Medical Collective of the Zaragoza College of Physicians in the area of Primary Care, in tribute to their selfless and selfless work since the beginning of the pandemic. The award was presented by the President of the Zaragoza College of Physicians, Javier García Tirado, and on behalf of the group, Dr. Andrés Ollero Ortigas and Dr. Sara Gracia, the oldest and youngest Primary Care doctors who practice the profession in the province of Zaragoza, have come up to pick it up.
Next, after a few words from Dr. Francisco Gómez Casal, The rector of the University of Zaragoza, José Antonio Mayoral, has presented the 'Honorary Member of the Year 2021' award to Dr. Francisco Javier Castillo. Graduate (1976) and doctor in Medicine and Surgery (1982) from the University of Zaragoza, he teaches classes in the department of Microbiology, Pediatrics, Radiology and Public Health. In addition, he was Vice Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zaragoza, and holds the position of Advisor to the Rector for Health Sciences. He has developed his entire professional career in the Hospital, combining his work in teaching with research in Microbiology, focusing on issues such as bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
Finally, preceded by the laudatio of Dr. Renata Jiménez, the Minister of Health of the Government of Aragon, Sira Repollés, has granted the appointment of 'Honorary Member of the Year 2022' to Dr. Héctor Vallés Varela. Doctor of Medicine, specialist in Otorhinolaryngology, Full Professor at the University of Zaragoza and Head of the Otorhinolaryngology Service at the University Clinical Hospital of Zaragoza. In addition, He is a Full Member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Zaragoza and a Corresponding Member of the Royal National Academy of Medicine.
Vallés is also director of the Cochlear Implant Program of the Autonomous Community of Aragon. Among his numerous awards is the Granting of recognition, in 2002, as Emeritus Team of the COMZ for the organization of the Cochlear Implant Program of the Autonomous Community of Aragon, and the bronze medals of the Spanish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervical Pathology. Facial in the years 2007 and 2015 as recognition of the work carried out in drafting the Informed Consents in Otorhinolaryngology.
