28 April 2023The Minister of Health today opened the second day of the 'I Dissemination Cycle IIS Aragón, Health and Science Conference'
The Minister of Health, Sira Repollés, attended today the second day of the 'I IIS Aragón Dissemination Cycle, Health and Science Conferences', organized by the Aragon Health Research Institute (IIS Aragón). The session has been dedicated to the patient as the protagonist in Primary Care, where the context and living conditions are key to the work of professionals, and has highlighted the importance of researching this modality of comprehensive care, in which It unites the primary care environment of personal healthcare for patients with community care.
«The Community Care Strategy responds to the need to hold individuals responsible for their health status, to empower them in their care and improve their autonomy. It aims to give tools to the population for, among others, their life transitions, such as breastfeeding, parenting, or healthy aging," Repollés indicated in his speech. “It is about building and consolidating a proactive and responsible model,” he added.
Rosa Magallón, family doctor, coordinator of the Public Health, Chronicity, Health Services and Primary Care Program of the IIS Aragón and principal researcher of the Aragonese Research Group in Primary Care (GAIAP) of the IIS Aragón, has highlighted, for her part, that Primary Care is “the first and closest contact between patients and the professionals of the Health System, a closeness that facilitates the involvement of patients in projects that improve the reality not only of the patient, but also of their environment.”
Different projects
Next, different GAIAP researchers and health professionals presented the projects. Evaluate GPS, on how to encourage the participation of people and the community in health promotion projects, by Viola Cassetti and Belén Benedé; EvalRA or why the capacities of our neighborhoods and towns are important to improve people's health, explained by Marina Pola and Ana Carrera; and RA_PAFIS, which addresses the recommendation of physical activity for health from Primary Care, by Belén Benedé and Alejandra Aguilar.
Likewise, three presentations have been held. On the one hand, the researcher Mario Samper has spoken about Community Resources and innovation for patients with Persistent Covid, while Marta Domínguez has addressed the Evaluation of the Community Care Strategy in the Aragonese Health Service and Fernando Nicolau has spoken about Gender biases in the recommendation of health assets.
The 'I IIS Aragón Dissemination Cycle, Health and Science Conferences' began last March and will run until December. This is a scientific dissemination activity that aims to convey to citizens different research projects and tools developed by scientists at IIS Aragón that help improve the health of different groups of patients and social and health professionals.
