PINERA PROGRAM – GRANTS FOR RESEARCH INTO RARE DISEASES: MULTICENTER RESEARCH PROJECT

11 March, 2025This call for applications will help scientific personnel already established abroad to return to Spain to develop a relevant research project for a period of five years, integrating into a Spanish public research institution.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have Spanish nationality.
- Have been living and working on scientific projects outside of Spain for at least 5 years.
- Having led or led a scientific project as a PI.
- Have a proposal from a Spanish public hospital, university or research centre to develop a research project at said centre.
- Present a long-term research project, with its corresponding objectives, timeline and monitoring indicators.
- Submit a declaration of the intention to continue developing professional activity in Spain at the end of the program, provided that the minimum conditions for this are met, in a joint declaration with the host institution.
- Commit to acknowledge the foundation's patronage in scientific publications and representative events.
- Not having a committed position or on leave in Spain.
Receiving institutions must:
- Be hospitals, universities or research centres owned by Spanish public authorities.
- Present, together with the applicant, a five-year research project at the Spanish center with defined objectives, an established timeline and clear indicators to assess its progress.
- Specify the contributions that the receiving center will make in support of the applicant's project.
Properly identify the facilities and laboratory dedicated specifically to the Talent Return Program with its visible name.
Application
The application must be submitted jointly by the researchers and the receiving institutions in Spain using the application form, attaching the following documentation:
- DNI of the applicant.
- Report on the research to be carried out.
- Certificate from the host institution signed by a representative.
- Joint declaration of intent by the host institution and the applicant.
- Commitment to human and material contributions from the host institution.
- Data protection and consent information form.
