September 7, 2026The L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" program announces the 21st edition of its Research Awards in Spain, aimed at supporting projects developed by female researchers.
Five prizes of 15.000 euros gross each will be awarded to Spanish research centers to finance projects led by female researchers during 2027 and/or 2028.
In this edition, projects must belong to one of the following areas: physical-mathematical sciences, technology and engineering.
The candidate researchers must meet, among others, the following requirements:
- Have Spanish nationality or accredited permanent residence in Spain for the last five years.
- To have been born in 1987 or later. This limit will be extended by one year for each child.
- To have obtained a doctorate in a subject related to the project and to have passed at least four years since the reading of the doctoral thesis.
- Having completed a predoctoral or postdoctoral stay of at least two years in a foreign research center or in a Spanish center of recognized prestige other than the one in which the thesis was carried out.
- Have a research contract with the center submitting the application to develop the project during 2027.
- Not to occupy a permanent position in the institution where they carry out their research activity.
- Not having been previously awarded in any national or international edition of the program.
Applications must be submitted by the research center. A single center may submit projects corresponding to different researchers, although each researcher may only apply with one project.
The application must include a project description, written in Spanish and with a maximum length of two pages, and the researcher's curriculum vitae, preferably in FECYT's CV format. The incorporation of a sex and gender perspective into the project will be considered an asset.
Researchers interested in applying through the IIS Aragón Foundation should contact the Projects Office well in advance to verify their eligibility, contractual relationship and necessary institutional documentation.
Endowment: five prizes of 15.000 euros gross each.
