Aspanoa has announced its annual aid for childhood cancer research, which is endowed with 60.000 Euros and seeks to finance projects that are developed mainly in Aragon.
Interested research groups have until July 14 to present their proposals, which will subsequently be evaluated by the State Research Agency, with the aim of granting aid to the winning team before the end of 2024.
The aid from Aspanoa has made it possible to begin the first research against childhood cancer in the history of Aragon. Currently, the Association is financing six projects, with a global investment of 460.000 Euros. This makes it the regional association of parents of children with cancer that allocates the most funds to research in all of Spain.
The last three winning projects of this call have been:
- Neoantigens as a therapeutic target for neuroblastoma and other childhood cancers. Directed by the Dr. Rebeca Sanz, from the IIS Aragón.
- Search for more effective treatments against medulloblastoma. Directed by the Dr. Pilar Martínez Duque, from the IIS Aragón.
- Development of NK cell treatments against DIPG and neuroblastoma. Led by the Drs. Alberto Jimenez Schuhmacher y Ariel Ramirez, from the IIS Aragón.
