The organizers of the “Ciudad de Monzón” Women's Race and representatives of the municipality's City Council visited the Aragón Health Research Institute (IIS Aragón) a week ago. The researchers of the group Immunotherapy, Inflammation y Cancer (I2C), led by Julián Pardo, explained the projects financed with the funds donated by the race.

The Monzón City Women's Race, started in 2015, promotes female participation in sports and raises funds for cancer research. Its relationship with the Aragón Health Research Institute began in 2018, with the donation of 10.900 Euros to the project 'Immune biomarkers for the treatment of metastases through immunotherapy' of the 'Miguel Servet Medical Oncology' group.
After the success of that call, in 2019 The donation amounted to 12.650 Euros, an amount that was allocated to the project 'Development of immunotherapy with natural killer (NK) cells for the treatment of childhood brain tumors'. The organization of the Ciudad de Monzón Women's Race has donated the funds raised in all its editions to the Health Research Institute. In the last one, they were allocated 13.000 Euros to the 'Killer Cells' project led by researcher Diego Sánchez Martínez from the GIIS055-Immunotherapy, Inflammation and Cancer (I2C) group.
