The psychologist and Human Resources specialist at the Miguel Servet University Hospital, Pilar Paúl Garasa, will participate in the last Patient and Resident day on June 20. The Aragonese Retina Association (AAR) will also do so, an organization that was created with the aim of promoting research into DHR (hereditary retinal dystrophy) for its prevention and treatment and to provide support to all partners affected by this type. of visual pathologies.
El Patient and Resident project, co-organized by the IIS Aragón, is an initiative of the Miguel Servet University Hospital which has the mission of raising awareness among residents about the importance of considering the patient's perspective in their daily practice.
Through dialogue breakfasts, patient associations come to the hospital to make residents reflect and thus, encourage closer attention. These sessions not only seek to facilitate knowledge about associations that improve the patient's ophthalmological experience, but also present solving real cases with a focus on generating empathy, reflection and collaboration.
“Patient and Resident” creates a space where residents identify opportunities for improvement, thus strengthening the professional-patient connection and improving the quality of attention. Through these sessions, residents have the opportunity to learn first-hand about patients' needs and concerns, allowing them to better understand their situation and offer more personalized and effective care.
Furthermore, this project encourages communication between residents and patient associations, which can lead to the creation of solutions to improve eye care.
