Around 400 people have participated in the El Pino de Binaced Solidarity Trail that took place this past Sunday, March 17 in the town of Huesca. The initiative has had various proposals: a popular urban walk and another along roads and trails; in addition to competitive courses. Dani Cremades and Scheherazade Higueras achieved victory in the 20 km race and Javi Arias and Andrea Barranco were the fastest in the 8 km race. After finishing this sporting event, a popular meal took place.
Prior to the race, the Saturday, March 16 at the Binaced Social location, Rafael Continente, from the Innovation and CSR Unit, and Nahum García, from the Clinical Research Unit of the IIS Aragón gave the talk "Biomedical Research and Innovation in Aragón" in order to bring the Institute's work closer to the public. and also thanking the invaluable support of the Trail organizers, the City Council, sponsors, participants and the entire town of Binaced to IIS Aragón.
In the talk, Rafa and Nahum highlighted Binaced's contributions to cancer research and how this research opens the door to large projects such as, for example, the Advanced Therapies Unit of Aragon.
After the talk, the Mayor of Binaced, Javier Sorinas, presented it to the Binaced Pine Institute.
The El Pino de Binaced Solidarity Trail has donated, throughout its different editions, more than €80.000 for IIS Aragón research. Furthermore, in this edition the Institute has also participated with a team of runners to join forces.
