More reliable tools are needed for the assessment of pain in people with dementia
18 December, 2020From this professional organization they explain the importance of prevention, protection, precaution and possibilities.
To avoid a third wave of covid infections after the Christmas gatherings, the Official College of Nursing of Zaragoza (COEZ) recommends following the rule of the four 'pes': prevention, precaution, protection and possibilities. From this organization they point out that, during the celebrations, "prevention must mark our actions if we want to get together. We must be very careful and, although it may seem obvious, common sense must govern each and every one of our actions."
"A few days before our Christmas visits, we can go ahead, as a precaution, restricting the number of social exposures as much as possible, in order to avoid contact with asymptomatic people," they indicate. If a diagnostic test is performed, they also recommend not falling into "false security", maintaining all individual protection measures: mask, distance and hygiene. "We must ensure that all those attending the meeting have an adequate number of masks and that they are appropriate. In addition, it is also necessary to have sufficient gel at home and carry out exhaustive cleaning of the spaces."
When choosing the place to hold the meeting, they advise evaluating all the possibilities in advance to decide which house best meets the space and ventilation recommendations. "It is recommended to circulate among the diners as little as possible and everyone must have their belongings identified (cutlery, glasses...). A single person, with a mask, will serve and clear the table," they point out from COEZ.
"No matter how many measures, restrictions or regulations are applied, in the end, we are active subjects of what is happening. Therefore, at the College of Nursing we appeal to individual responsibility, which has a great impact on the population as a whole" .
"With the most absolute respect for all those people who have been directly affected by the loss of a family member during the pandemic, due to this or another pathology, we understand the need to unite and enjoy these very special dates. That is why it is so "It is important not to lose sight of all these tips," they point out from COEZ.
