First Organ-on-Chip Society in Spain: “The potential of this technology is limitless”
3 December, 2025The meeting, which will be held on December 11 at the Miguel Servet University Hospital, will offer a scientific and clinical update on the development of CAR-T therapies and their implementation in the healthcare system.
The Advanced Therapies Conference in Aragon will take place next December 11th 2025 at the Miguel Servet University Hospital (Zaragoza), with the aim of analyzing the clinical development, innovation and implementation challenges of the CAR-T therapies at the regional and national levels. The session is aimed at biomedical professionals, healthcare professionals, and managers interested in the latest advances in National Plan for Advanced Therapies.
The official opening will feature speeches by Angel Lanas, director of the IIS Aragón; Patricia Palazón, manager of Sector II Zaragoza of the Government of Aragon; and Jose Luis Bancalero, Health Minister. Following this, a session will be held dedicated to the clinical development of CAR-T therapies in oncohematology, moderated by Diego Sanchez Martinez, scientific director of the Advanced Therapies Unit of the IIS Aragón.
The following will participate in this panel: Vicente Carrasco Baraja, president of the Aragonese Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy, with an update on lymphoma and myeloma; Manel Juan, head of the Immunology Service at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, who will address an integrative view of CAR-T ARI therapies; and Ariel Gaspar Ramírez Labrada, Ramón y Cajal researcher at the IIS Aragón, who will present the development of the first CAR-T therapy for myeloproliferative syndromes, as well as the preclinical studies and the design of the associated clinical trial.
After a coffee break, the day will continue with a round table discussion focused on the National Plan for Advanced Therapies and its deployment in the autonomous communities. Participants will include María Teresa Olave Rubio, head of Hematology at the Lozano Blesa Clinical Hospital; María Pilar Delgado Beltrán, head of Hematology at HUMS; Ana Bandrés, regional coordinator for the Rational Use of Medicines and Health Products; and Ignacio Hernández Martín, senior technician of the General Directorate of Common Portfolio of Services of the National Health System.
The day will end with a presentation by Ana Cristina Castillo, manager of the Aragonese Health Service, closing a session that seeks to promote knowledge and coordination between clinical agents and managers in a key area of medicine.
