12 May 2026The IIS Aragón has coordinated the presentation of the REGIC Management Staff Mobility Program, an initiative that has generated great interest among European research management professionals.
Research management professionals from Aragon participated in the annual conference of the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA), held this week in Utrecht. This leading European gathering for the sector brought together 1800 professionals from over 40 countries. Spain, which hosted the previous meeting (Madrid, 2025), had the second-highest number of attendees after the host country.
The Aragonese representation included staff from the Aragon Health Research Institute (IIS Aragon), the Aragon Institute of Health Sciences (IACS), the Aragon Institute of Nanoscience and Materials (INMA, CSIC-University of Zaragoza), the Iberus Campus and the Aragonese Agency for Research and Development (ARAID).
The program has addressed key issues such as the use of artificial intelligence in research and new developments related to the future 10th European Framework Programme for research, which will replace the current one (Horizon Europe) ending in 2027.
Among the contributions on good practices, from Spain the Mobility Program for Management Personnel of the network of clinical research management entities (REGIC) coordinated by IISa, and the CORMES platform (Coordination of Spanish Research Managers), led by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) which is preparing a roadmap for the professionalization and recognition of research management personnel.
Aragon's participation in this meeting has allowed us to learn about new trends in the field of research management, strengthening the connection with national and European professionals in the sector.
