The asociación Alliance Against Metastasis: Innovation and Support (ALMIA), With the collaboration of the Ibercaja Foundation, presents the round table: “Cancer and Metastasis Today: Challenges and Hope” in order to make visible everything that surrounds the fact of living with metastasis.
ALMIA is a recently created association, founded specifically to represent people living with metastatic cancer, works to create a collaborative network between professionals, patients, and institutions. It also seeks to ensure equitable access to innovative treatments, improve social and healthcare, and offer direct support to patients, families, and caregivers.
Metastatic cancer, or the spread of cancer cells from a primary tumor to other parts of the body, complicates treatment and represents a real challenge for patients and healthcare professionals. Despite advances, metastasis remains poorly understood, so Researching metastasis means saving livesHence the importance of continuing to demand greater funding for research, as well as continuing to raise awareness among the population about the importance of healthy living and prevention.
