The professor at the University of Zaragoza, and part of the IIS Aragón, Javier García-Campayo, received an important recognition in December, given by the newspaper La Razón, in the 2023 Doctors of the Year Awards
On December 18, the newspaper La Razón brought together fifteen prominent professionals in one of the most notable events on its events calendar: the Doctors of the Year Awards 2023. A celebration sponsored by PharmaMar, AMA (mutual insurance group), Truvia and Rioja Vega. Doctors, family members and guests gathered at the Westin Palacete Hotel in Madrid to celebrate life and the fight for health and to vindicate the important work of its professionals.
Important awards that They recognized one of the IIS Aragón researchers: the doctor Javier García-Campayo, one of the most prestigious psychiatrists in our country. He precisely picked up the Doctor of the Year Award in Psychiatry and Psychology.
In total, 14 were the protagonists of a new edition of the awards:
1. Dr. Pablo Guisado. Doctor of the Year in the Approach to COVID in Immunocompromised Patients. Awarded by Diego López, director of the Virology Unit of PharmaMar.
2. Dr. Juan Bautista Cubells Fuentes. Doctor of the Year Award in Cardiovascular Surgery.
3. Dr. José Mª Serra Mestre. Doctor of the Year in Plastic Surgery.
4. Dr. Germán Macía Colón. Doctor of the Year Award in Rhinoplasty.
5. Dr. José Nieto Prieto. Doctor of the Year Award in Hair Surgery.
6. Dr. Rafael Llopis Miró. Doctor of the Year Award in Hip and Knee Prosthetic Surgery.
7. Dr. Miguel Sánchez Encinas. Expert in Da Vinci Robot-Assisted Surgery for Eleven Years, Focused on Prostate Cancer and Uro-Oncology.
8. Dr. Zacarías Galo Sánchez. Doctor of the Year Award in Regenerative Traumatology.
9. Dr. José Javier Garcia Campayo. Doctor of the Year Award in Psychiatry and Psychology.
10. Dr. Nabil Ragaei Kamel. Doctor of the Year in Ophthalmology.
11. Dr. María Natalia Gennaro Della Rossa. Doctor of the Year Award in Antiaging Medicine.
12. Dr. Javier Macía. Doctor of the Year Award in Dentistry as a Dental Surgeon Specialist in Guided Surgery and Cadcam.
13. Dr. Enrique Gastaldi Orquin. Doctor of the Year Award in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Traumatology.
14. Dr. Néstor Naranjo Aspas. Doctor of the Year Award in Facial Surgery.
Biography of Javier García- Campayo
He is a professor of Psychiatry at the University of Zaragoza and at the Miguel Servet University Hospital.. He has carried out research stays at the Universities of Manchester and Cambridge (Great Britain) and McGill (Montréal, Canada). He has been president of the Spanish Society of Psychosomatic Medicine. He has published more than 300 research papers, as well as 10 books on psychiatric topics. He directs the Master of Mindfulness and the Chair of Contemplative Sciences at the University of Zaragoza, the first on these topics at a Spanish-speaking university. He is author of multiple works such as The Science of Compassion, Lucid Dreams, What Do We Know About Mindfulness?, etc.
