August 5, 2026The European Research Council (ERC) will soon publish the ERC Consolidator Grants 2027 call (ERC-2027-CoG), aimed at excellent researchers who want to consolidate their own independent research team or program.
The call funds cutting-edge research projects in any area of knowledge, based on ambitious and innovative ideas, with the scientific excellence of the principal investigator and the proposal being the fundamental evaluation criterion.
As a main novelty, the 2027 call extends the eligibility window and is aimed at researchers who have successfully defended their first doctorate between 5 and 15 years before January 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension in certain duly justified circumstances.
The aid can reach up to 2 million euros for 5 years, with the possibility of requesting additional funding when duly justified.
Deadline: January 12, 2027, at 17:00 p.m. (Brussels time).
