The project Patient in Science at IIS Aragón resumed its activities successfully, attracting more than 40 people. The sessions, held between September 5, 10 and 12 at the ASAPME and ASPANOA headquarters in Zaragoza, focused on audiovisual creation and creative writing, offering participants creative tools to connect with the healthcare field.
In the workshop audiovisual creation, the attendees participated, in the facilities of ASAPME, on September 5th in a first theoretical session where they learned to linking the audiovisual world with the field of research and health. And on September 12, in a second practical session, They created original audiovisual pieces, guided by the expert in audiovisual production Santiago Vicente and Marina Mostajo, audiovisual specialist and colleague at the IIS Aragón.
The creative writing and story therapy workshop, taught by the writer Anabel Garcia Capapey at the headquarters of ASPANOA Zaragoza offered a space for reflection and artistic expression. The attendees worked on How stories can be a tool in the healthcare environment and created stories about it, then shared their writings on a collaborative and emotional environment. Another of the initiatives is the recently announced Patient in Science Short Story Contest, where anyone who wants can send one or two writings until October 14.
With these activities, Patient in Science continues to promote the Link between science and citizenship, providing a space where participants can learn and apply different forms of expression in the field of health.
What is Patient in Science?
The project "Patient in Science” is an initiative of the IAragon Health Research Institute (IIS Aragón) in collaboration with patient associations AECC, ASAPME, ASPANOA and ATADES and with the involvement of Aragonese Patient Forum. The project has the financing and collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
The program searches enhance the interaction between citizens, patients and the research group with the objectives of increasing knowledge and understanding of science and technology in the field of health, and facilitating the participation of patients in research and innovation projects.
“Patient in Science” consists of training actions and activities in which patients and citizens in general, together with researchers, will generate solutions and content of various kinds that combine creativity and scientific rigor.
The project, open to all citizens, is closely linked to the strategic initiative of IIS Aragón to incorporate citizens and patients into the Institute's research and innovation. Through activities in person and online In Aragón we want to bring basic and applied clinical research in health services closer to citizens to increase knowledge and understanding of science and technology.
