26 June, 2025The Tatiana Pérez de Guzmán el Bueno Foundation, in fulfillment of its mission of serving society through youth training and the promotion of scientific research, is calling for five scholarships/contracts.
Predoctoral programs in Neuroscience for Spaniards who are going to complete their doctoral thesis in an officially accredited doctoral program in Spain.
The objective of the scholarships/contracts is to complete a doctoral thesis in Neuroscience focused on understanding the human nervous system and the diseases that affect it.
Duration and amount: The initial duration of the scholarships is one year, which may be extended for equal periods, up to a maximum of four years, based on the satisfactory completion of the work plan.
The scholarship award is in accordance with Royal Decree 103/2019, of March 1, consolidated text (last modified: January 11, 2023) and will consist of €33.000 gross per year for the first two years. For the third and fourth years, the amounts will be €35.000 and €36.000 gross, respectively.
Applicant requirements: Applicants must meet the entry requirements for an official doctoral program at a Spanish university by July 2024. (Royal Decree 576/2023). The university holding the official doctoral program where the doctorate will be developed is considered, for the purposes of this application, the host university. However, if the thesis work is carried out at a research center linked or not to that university, said center will be considered the host center, committing to comply with all the requirements.

Applicants must demonstrate a good command of both spoken and written English. Applicants must have been admitted or pre-admitted to the department or research center where they intend to develop their doctoral thesis, and must attach the admission or pre-admission document to their application.
Thesis supervisors must be PhD holders with a permanent civil service position in the teaching bodies of Spanish universities, or belong to the research ranks of the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) or the OPIs (Spanish Institute of Private Institutions), or have a teaching or research employment relationship with the institution where the thesis work will be carried out. The thesis supervisors' contractual relationship must be fulfilled at the time of application submission and maintained throughout the duration of the grant.
