September 24, 2026The "la Caixa" Foundation has launched the 10th edition of the CaixaResearch Call for Health Research, aimed at supporting projects of scientific excellence and with potential social impact in the field of basic, clinical and translational research in biomedicine and health.
The projects must fall within one of the following categories: thematic areas:
- Neurosciences.
- Oncology.
- Cardiovascular and related metabolic diseases
- Infectious diseases.
- Enabling technologies applied to the four areas mentioned above.
Proposals may have a maximum duration of 3 years and be submitted in two formats:
- Individual projects, developed by a single research organization, with a maximum funding of €500.000.
- Consortium projects, made up of between 2 and 5 research organizations, with a maximum funding of €1.000.000.
Researchers from non-profit research organizations based in Spain or Portugal can lead the proposals. Non-profit research organizations from any country can participate in consortium projects. Furthermore, both individual projects and consortia can include up to three non-profit civil society organizations, such as patient associations.
The call has a total budget of up to 22 million euros to finance the selected projects.
