Circulation, stress and anxiety, the relationship between microbiota, liver and heart, and cardio-oncology are the focus of this educational program, which will be held between April and May at the Ibercaja Foundation Patio de la Infanta.
The Ibercaja Foundation and the Aragon Health Research Institute (IIS Aragon) are organizing a new edition of the conference in Zaragoza. “Promoting Cardiovascular Health: Take Care of Yourself!”A series of informative talks will bring the public closer to different perspectives on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular health. The four sessions will take place in Ibercaja Patio de la Infanta Foundation, will be of a Free and will take place between April 8 and May 27, 2026.
The first day, “When your legs talk, listen to your circulation!”, The April 8 and will focus on vascular health. Participants will include Dr. Abel Vélez Lomana, Head of Section of the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Service of the Lozano Blesa University Hospital of Zaragoza and researcher at the IIS Aragón, and the Dr. Gabriel Inaraja PérezThe session will be moderated by a specialist in Angiology and Vascular Surgery at the same hospital and a researcher at the IIS Aragón. Dr. Miguel Ángel Guerrero Casedas, responsible for the Medical Service – Health Unit of Ibercaja.
The second appointment will be April 21 with “Breathe and regain your calm: managing stress and anxiety”A session dedicated to the relationship between mental health and cardiovascular health will take place. The following speakers will participate: Dr. Ricardo Campos Ródenas, Head of Section of the Adult Hospitalization Unit of the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital of Zaragoza, member of the Board of the European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine and researcher at the IIS Aragón, and the Dr. Ana Serrano FerrerThe session will be moderated by a specialist physician in the Psychosomatic Psychiatry and Liaison Unit of the same hospital. Dr. Belén Moreno FrancoProfessor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Zaragoza and researcher at IIS Aragón and CIBERCV.
El May 6th will take place “Gut microbiota and heart: the key role of the liver in your health”A conference that will address the connection between diet, gut microbiota, liver, and the cardiovascular system. The program will feature... Dr. Pedro Baptista, senior ARAID researcher at IIS Aragón and CIBEREHD researcher; the Dr. Sandra García Mateo, a specialist in Digestive System at the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital in Zaragoza and a researcher at the IIS Aragón and CIBEREHD; and the Dr. Samuel Martínez DomínguezA specialist in gastroenterology at the same hospital and a researcher at the IIS Aragón and CIBEREHD. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Fernando Gomollón García, University professor, director of the Department of Medicine, Psychiatry and Dermatology at the University of Zaragoza and researcher at IIS Aragón and CIBEREHD.
The cycle will end on May 27th with the day “The heart of the cancer patient”This session will focus on the importance of maintaining cardiovascular health during cancer treatment. Participants will include: Dr. Antonio Antón Torres, head of the Medical Oncology Service at the Miguel Servet University Hospital, tenured professor at the University of Zaragoza and researcher at the IIS Aragón; the Dr. Luis López Gómez, head of the Hematology and Hemotherapy Section of the Royo Villanova University Hospital and professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Zaragoza; and the Dr. Ana Marcén Miravete, a specialist in Cardiology at the Miguel Servet University Hospital and a researcher at the IIS Aragón.
