22 May 2025This award recognizes and highlights the impact of medical and scientific advances and innovations in society. To this end, this prize is awarded to an internationally renowned scientist who, throughout their scientific or medical career, has made a significant contribution to the protection, improvement, or rehabilitation of the health of individuals and populations, thanks to a biomedical discovery of global significance. For all these reasons, it recognizes an activity that has served to generate new knowledge of global relevance and, where applicable, has been able to modify countries' healthcare systems, the risk factors for preventable diseases, social determinants, or environmental impact as a basis for the generation of diseases, without forgetting their role as scientific and clinical inspiration for other current and future researchers.
Nominations will be submitted indirectly through the submission of a letter of intent from one or more nominators.
Companies, foundations, researchers, universities, hospitals, professional associations, scientific societies, royal academies, etc. can nominate.
Endowment: 100.000 euros and accreditation certificate.
