FORCE Joint Call 2027 – Pragmatic clinical trials in rare and difficult-to-treat cancers.

The European Consortium FORCE (Fostering Oncology Research by Charities in Europe) has opened its first joint call for funding international pragmatic clinical trials, initiated by researchers, aimed at improving the treatment of patients with rare and/or difficult-to-treat cancersThe call for proposals has a total approximate budget of 13 million.

Under the motto «Quality of life-integrated approaches to improve treatment of rare and/or hard-to-treat cancers through pragmatic clinical trials»Studies developed under routine clinical practice conditions that evaluate how to use established interventions more effectively, safely and sustainably will be funded, both pharmacological as well as non-pharmacological, including surgery and radiotherapy.

The trials must include participants from at least three funding countries (France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Latvia, Ireland, and Italy) and explicitly integrate the quality of life and other outcomes relevant to patients. Meaningful participation of patients or their representatives will be mandatory throughout the trial cycle.

Deadline for submission of pre-proposals: September 21, 2026, at 14:00 p.m. (CET). The selected proposals will be invited to present the full proposal in early 2027.
