The Spanish Association of Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology (AEPCP) together with the University of Zaragoza present the XI National and I International Congress of the AEPCP which will be held on October 24 to 26, 2019 in the city of Teruel. The objective of this biannual congress is to disseminate the advancement of knowledge through the exchange of results and experiences from different scientific and professional sectors linked to people's comprehensive health. Therefore, the conference is aimed at teachers, researchers, health and mental health professionals, students and residents interested in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology and Psychopathology.
On this occasion, the congress highlights the important advances that have emerged in recent years from research in psychopathology, with influence on the conceptualization of psychological disorders, their diagnosis and their treatment. We refer to the transdiagnostic approach in mental health. From this approach it is possible to identify the etiological and maintaining variables of different psychological disorders or groups of disorders and design treatments focused on addressing these variables, regardless of the diagnostic labels.
The plenary presentations will be given by five women, scientists and clinicians, of recognized international prestige who will share their knowledge regarding transdiagnostic interventions for the treatment of emotional disorders in children, adolescents and adults, eating disorders and personality disorders. The closing presentation will help us question whether, from where we are, we are doing enough to ensure that evidence-based treatments reach all the people who need them.
Without leaving aside the interest in other aspects of Clinical and Health Psychology, and the social and ethical aspects of our discipline, the program includes symposiums, round tables, communication tables and posters with very diverse topics, all of them, of great interest and presented by professionals, clinicians and researchers from our country.
The president, vice president and the organizational and scientific committees of this congress hope that the program is to the liking of the attendees and can contribute to the updating of knowledge, the exchange of experiences and good professional practices, the establishment of contacts and networks of work, and the enjoyment and celebration of what unites us, science.
