More about the speaker:
Torres-Salinas holds a Bachelor's degree in Humanities (2001), Documentation (2003) and a Doctorate in Scientific Documentation (2007).
- He has worked in administration and services, creating and directing bibliometrics units, first at the University of Navarra and then at the University of Granada (2007-2023). He was a Postdoctoral Researcher (2019-2024) and, since 2025, a Full Professor in the Department of Information and Communication (University of Granada). He is a member of the EC3 Research Group, dedicated to topics related to evaluative bibliometrics and alternative metrics. He has over 110 scientific contributions indexed in the Web of Science.
- He is one of the most cited researchers in his field, as shown by his inclusion in the "Ranking of the World Scientists: World's Top 2% Scientists" compiled by Stanford University.
- He was CEO (2013-2023) and is currently a senior consultant at EC3metrics spin-off.
- He teaches and shares open access courses on Evaluative Bibliometrics, Scientific Communication and Publication, Academic Writing, Research Career, Generative AI, etc…
- Currently, he focuses on the YoSigoUGR researcher training platform, the InfluScience TAZ initiative dedicated to analyzing the social influence of science, and the European project Rock Your Research.
- He has been a member of the Evaluation and Monitoring Commission of the State Accreditation System since 21/09/2023.
- Since 2023, she has held the Coordination for Social Impact Assessment in the Vice-Rectorate for Social Innovation, Employability and Entrepreneurship of the UGR within the Medialab UGR.
