The University of Zaragoza will celebrate on September 24 the European Night of Researchers, which this year will revolve around European Green Deal. The European Commission has supported the project“GREEN9NIGHT”, inside of the consortium ofl Group 9 of Universities (G-9), made up of the Universities of Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Balearic Islands, Oviedo, the Basque Country, the Public University of Navarra and Zaragoza, with the collaboration of the La Rioja campus. In this edition, the event will feature the participation of the Campus of Huesca and Teruel.
The promoted activities will have as their common thread the sustainability and the environment with two dates highlights: a previous event, the green week, which was developed in June, coinciding with World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8), and the Main event, which will be celebrated throughout Europe on 24 September.
In this simultaneous event, which is celebrated in more than 370 cities from the continent, financed by the EC under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), an initiative to promote scientific careers in Europe, of the Horizon H2020 Programme.
The objectives of this event are to show the most human side of science, bring the figure of researchers closer to citizens so that they know their work and the benefits it brings to society, as well as encourage the choice of a scientific career among students. , eliminating gender barriers.
