September 24 is World Cancer Research Day. On this day, the AECC Scientific Foundation will make public the research grants awarded in 2019. Our objective is to build a global movement capable of achieving cancer research that is sustainable, without borders, and to prevent scientific advances from slowing down. It's time for #WorldCancerResearchDay
One of the priority challenges in the fight against cancer is to continue promoting and reinforcing oncological research as an essential factor to stop the progression of the disease. and continue to improve survival rates and quality of life for affected people. Projections indicate that cancer will be the leading cause of death in the coming years with an annual increase in its incidence of 21,6 million new cases by 2030, according to IARC estimates.
The final objective of this initiative is to raise awareness in society so that it promotes and grants recognition to the research effort in cancer., as well as helping to maintain the social and institutional commitment to oncological research.
This day will give us all the opportunity to raise awareness and commitment to carry out coordinated actions and that cover all the areas necessary for the advancement of cancer research.
