To celebrate the Day of Women and Girls in Science and to feel like them, students from the Don Bosco School in Zaragoza have put themselves in their shoes.
After reading the biographies of some of the most prominent scientists, we realize that it must not have been easy to be a woman, dedicate herself to research, and be recognized as scientists. Today, all this is changing, although there is still a long way to go.
That passionate vocation
Therefore, to commemorate the Day of Women and Girls in Science, students from the Scientific Culture class, at the Don Bosco School in Zaragoza, wanted to pay tribute to some of these women, putting themselves in their place, getting involved. in their skin, and reflecting on how they felt and how much they fought to dedicate themselves to that vocation that they were so passionate about.
Each student, with the help of an image editing program, has selected the photograph of a scientist and has replaced the researcher's face with their own, thus portraying themselves in the workplace or in the environment of these women. "At first," they explain, "those photographs of ourselves in the shoes of the greats of science shocked us. Now, it seems like a small tribute to their tenacity and great achievements, which advanced science and society as a whole." .
