El Otorhinolaryngology Service The Miguel Servet University Hospital has commemorated its 50 anniversary with an institutional event at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zaragoza. The event, held this March, served to review the evolution of the Service since its creation and its development as a reference unit in Aragon.

The incorporation of technologies such as lasers and robotic surgery has expanded therapeutic options for complex tumors, enabling more precise and less invasive interventions.
The Service has also been a pioneer in Aragon in the development of procedures such as otological and laryngological microsurgery, surgery for sleep-related breathing disorders, endoscopic skull base surgery, and the creation of a voice laboratory. Furthermore, it has established itself as a leading center for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, with recognized teaching and research activities.
Currently, the service is organized into specific areas such as head and neck oncological surgery, rhinology and anterior skull base surgery, otology-otoneurology, and pediatric ENT. It is a regional referral center for pediatric otolaryngology and treats patients from Aragon as well as complex cases referred from other regions.
