The year 2023 represents a change of cycle for the IIS Aragón, marked by the implementation of its new Strategic Plan 2023-2027, which was approved in January and presented on May 3, 2023 in the CIBA Building. The Strategic Plan has been presented by the Scientific Director, Dr. Ángel Lanas and by the Executive Director Óscar López.
The new plan revolves around several strategic axes such as internationalization, innovation, translational research, attracting talent and providing high value-added services. After consolidating its international presence in 2022 by increasing its activity in attracting European funds linked to projects of its six scientific programs, the IIS Aragón will continue the path of the last two years seeking to attract international talent, exchange knowledge and establish of national and international alliances, both European and with organizations from other continents.
The IIS Aragón is implementing formulas that intensify the active participation of different key actors in research projects in the field of health, paying special attention to the participation of citizens and patients throughout the definition and execution processes. of research projects. Patient-centered innovation will be reflected in different programs that the IIS Aragón is launching in 2023. This innovation will seek to generate product, service and process solutions in the field of health, highlighting the work of the Institute as a backbone of researchers, institutions, citizens and the health system, both in Primary Care and in the hospital environment.
Likewise, 2023 is a key year for strengthening the infrastructure and research equipment of the IIS Aragón, with an important project to intensify its presence and activity within the Miguel Servet and Clínico Lozano Blesa university hospitals.
