Repollés highlights the role of Primary Care on COMZ Member Day
30 May 2022The Aragón Health Research Institute (IIS Aragón) has participated today in 'El Rincón de la Ciencia', an initiative to give visibility and promote scientific dissemination that takes place on the last Friday of each month at the San Francisco Campus of the University of Zaragoza and where different university research centers and institutes show their projects and carry out experiments and activities for all visitors.
On this occasion, the proposal of the IIS Aragón researchers Marta Baselga, Emma Miñes, Sarai Ortiz and Sandra Lolic was the dissemination activity on human cell biology 'We are only a few billion cells'. Through electron micrographs, animal organs and tissue samples, visitors have explored the amazing cellular architecture that gives rise to all the functions of the human body and have found answers to questions such as how many cells there are in the human body, how many types of cell we have or how they can perform such varied functions. In addition, attendees who participated in a simple game to identify the cells that make up each tissue were able to take home a 3D printed neuron as a gift.

The recipients of these exhibitions, which last between 15 and 20 minutes, are the general public: the experiments are intended for younger visitors, while the level of complexity of the dissemination is adjusted depending on the age of the participants.
