Stress, depression and their close relationship with the heart
This next Thursday, February 29 The sixth edition of the Cardiovascular Health Promotion conference begins. Take care of yourself! with two presentations byDr. Nuria Val, specialist in Family Medicine, and Dr. Concepción De La Cámara, psychiatrist at the Lozano Blesa University Hospital.. The first will address stress as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases as harmful as hypertension or cholesterol. During the second presentation we will talk about the relationship between depression and people who have suffered a cardiovascular event, as well as the importance of detecting their symptoms and starting adequate treatment for patients. After the conferences, a dialogue moderated by Dr. Elena Lobo, professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Zaragoza, will take place.
The second meeting, the next March 7, will address obesity stigma. During the first talk, Dr. José Miguel Arbonés, senior researcher at the Aragonese Institute of Health Sciences (IACS) and researcher at the Networked Biomedical Research Center for the Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition (CIBEROBN), will focus on the false belief that obesity is due to lack of self-discipline. The researcher will explain that it is a chronic disease influenced by genetic, behavioral and environmental factors. Subsequently, Dr. Santiago Gascón, professor of Psychopathology at the University of Zaragoza, will address the impact of obesity on mental health, often promoted by the concept of aesthetic “normality” imposed by society, which in many cases generates cases extremes of discrimination and mental disorder to those who suffer from it. This second day will end with a discussion moderated by Dr. Belén Moreno, professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Zaragoza.
The following meetings will focus on thyroid disease, next April 18, with two conferences by doctors Alejandro Sanz and Martín Laclaustra and a colloquium moderated by doctor José Manuel Lou.
