October 3, 2023On September 29, the European Night of Researchers at the University of Zaragoza was celebrated and the IIS Aragón participated with a fun and practical workshop on healthy habits for the little ones.
The University of Zaragoza celebrated, last Friday, September 29 between 17 p.m. and 21 p.m., the European Night of Researchers with numerous activities in the three Aragonese capitals with the aim of take research and knowledge to the streets which is developed from the different university campuses and in the university institution's own and mixed institutes.
Once again, the Aragón Health Research Institute has been part of this initiative thanks to the collaboration of Pilar De Miguel-Etayo, Larissa Carvalho Caser, Andressa Freire Salviano and Nahid Ochoa, researchers from the University of Zaragoza and the IIS Aragón in the GENUD group.
Under the name “Go ahead, get your ALASS!”, the researchers held a fun workshop so that the little ones who came to this event could learn first-hand about some of the eating habits, physical activity, sleep and sustainability. The participants did crossword puzzles that hid words related to the theme of the program and got their ALASS.
Precisely, the ALASS Program (Food, Physical Activity, Health and Sustainability) started this September with children and young people from Zaragoza between 6 and 15 years old, with a duration of two school years. The program born with him target to promote the adherence to the Mediterranean diet and an active lifestyle among Zaragoza schoolchildren with the goal to reduce the risk of some chronic diseases in this group non-communicable, such as overweight, obesity and cardiovascular and musculoskeletal diseases. The Aragón Health Research Institute promotes this project together with the Alcampo Foundation.
