The San Jorge University Hospital signs an agreement with the IIS Aragón to promote research

The San Jorge University Hospital and the Aragón Health Research Institute Foundation (IIS Aragón) have signed today a collaboration agreement that aims to facilitate healthcare professionals in Alto Aragón to carry out more and better research and innovation projects, so that the health center can be placed at the level of the large hospitals in the country.

In this way, the IIS Aragón, formed by the University of Zaragoza, the Miguel Servet University Hospital and the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital, will contribute to ensuring that the good results obtained in the two main Aragonese hospitals help to promote basic health research and applied in Alto Aragón.

Thus, the institute is committed, on the one hand, to providing administrative and methodological support to Huesca researchers in the management of their projects and, on the other, to promoting the raising of funds from national and international research funding organizations. as well as private companies.

For its part, the San Jorge University Hospital is committed to developing training programs in research and innovation, with the support of the business sector, and to making spaces and facilities in the Hospital available to researchers assigned to the IIS Aragón to carry out said activity. .

It should be remembered that the San Jorge Hospital has been a university since September 7, 2020 and, therefore, its functions include, in addition to healthcare, research and teaching. Thanks to this initiative, it will be possible to attract, retain and develop the talent of professionals, taking advantage of the enormous experience that the IIS Aragón has in this field and the use of tax incentives for patronage as a formula for public-private collaboration in the hospital field.
