The Zaragoza center has been recognized as the university hospital with the best reputation in the autonomous community.
El Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital Zaragoza has received the award for the Best Healthcare Reputation in Aragon, an award granted by Merco Salud, which distinguishes the hospitals with the best rating per autonomous community within its annual ranking.
The award was collected this Monday in Madrid by the director of the Zaragoza center, Diego Rodríguez, during the presentation of the results of Merco Salud 2025, held at the headquarters of the Collegiate Medical Organization.
The Merco Health Awards recognize the Health centers, professionals y healthcare system organizations with the best reputation in Spain, based on an independent methodology that evaluates quality of care, research, and clinical management. The study is based on thousands of surveys of healthcare professionals, managers, patients, and other stakeholders in the sector, as well as objective indicators and reputational analysis.
The director of the Clinical Hospital of Zaragoza has highlighted that this recognition is result of the work of all professionals in all job categories at the center, characterized by a high level of training and continuous attention to the citizens.
She also noted that “this award represents the excellent work of all the staff at the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital in Zaragoza.” She further emphasized that the recognition is based on “an independent audit that assesses quality, research, and clinical management,” and that it places the center “31st among the 100 public hospitals with the best reputation in Spain.” Rodríguez highlighted that this is “a first for Aragon.”
The Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital is the second largest hospital in Aragon, with nearly 800 beds and a template superior to 5.100 professionalsIt serves approximately [number of] patients annually. 150.000 emergencies, registers more than 29.500 hospital admissions, 522.000 outpatient visits y 325.000 outpatient procedures.
In the surgical field, the center performs approximately 18.500 interventions per year and is a regional reference center in processes such as liver transplantation, lithotripsy, peritoneal carcinomatosis and cochlear implantation.
In the field of research, the Clinical Hospital has 179 active clinical trialsIn addition to 39 other ongoing research projects, he has over 230 scientific publications.
