19 July 2022VI edition of the Young Researchers Awards and Honorary Award for Excellence in Scientific Career _ AstraZeneca Foundation
20 July 2022Last June, the 'iHealthy' research group of the IIS Aragón received the first 'Innova eVIA' award in the Socio-Health Care category for the 'TeleDxPhysio' project, in which it participates together with the Howlab research group of the I3A (University of Zaragoza), the ONCE School of Physiotherapy and the companies Geospatiumlab SL and Fisio Consultores SL.
The TeleDxPhysio project innovates in the diagnosis of non-specific low back pain through the use of smart sensors that integrate artificial intelligence with the aim of not only facilitating the diagnosis, but also allowing physiotherapists to carry out personalized treatment and monitoring of their patients. The use of these sensors, which will be integrated into the HEFORA telerehabilitation platform as a pilot experience, aims to help physiotherapists and patients with visual disabilities in the use of these telerehabilitation services.
The 'iHealthy' group at IIS Aragón, led by Pablo Herrero Gallego, investigates the application of new technologies in physiotherapy with the aim of improving both the clinical practice of the physiotherapist and the quality of life of the patients. His lines of research focus on personalized physiotherapy and the implementation of new technologies in physiotherapy with the aim of personalizing diagnoses and treatments.
For its part, the eVIA awards recognize the best innovative solutions in the sector of technologies applied to health, accessibility and active and independent living. They are an initiative of the eVIA technological platform, whose secretariat is in charge of AMETIC, in collaboration with the Spanish Red Cross and the ONCE Foundation.
