10 July 2025The group shares two of its latest initiatives focused on disseminating professional ethics in the healthcare field.
The Research Group on Feminization and Ethics of Health Professions (FEPS, H36_23D, of the Government of Aragon) has carried out two outstanding initiatives aimed at reflection and dissemination of professional ethics in the healthcare field.
On the one hand, the group has actively participated in the organization of the "20th Summer Course on Teaching and Research in Bioethics. Bioethics and Artificial Intelligence", which will be celebrated on the days 5 and September 6 at the Training Center of the College of Physicians of Zaragoza (C/ Ana Isabel Herrero 3 and 5). This is the Edition 20 of an activity that has established itself as a meeting place and a national and international reference for training and debate on methodological aspects of teaching and research in bioethics, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and on innovation for the continuing education of health professionals.
This year, the course is dedicated monographically to the artificial intelligence in its bioethical aspects, with a program that includes lectures, workshops, and discussion sessions. The objectives of this edition are:
- To build bridges between bioethics and healthcare reality in order to contribute to the excellence of healthcare professions.
- Analyze and discuss teaching and research experiences in bioethics and professional ethics, creating a space for exchange among students, professionals, and academics.
- Provide guidance for developing a bioethics curriculum for those wishing to train for research and teaching, as well as serve on committees.
- Promote innovative projects in research and teaching by bringing together young and veteran researchers.

In addition, the FEPS group has produced an informative graphic document entitled "I'm going as a patient tomorrow! Should I introduce myself as a healthcare professional?", the result of the project "Being Sick is Human: When the Patient is the Doctor." This material acts as a sort of visual "style manual" on how to present yourself as a doctor when presenting as a patient, in line with the recommendation contained in Article 51.3 of the new Code of Medical Ethics.
Research conducted by the FEPS group confirms that this situation generates frequent conflicts and conflicting perceptions among healthcare professionals: while some believe that introducing themselves can be interpreted as a demand for preferential treatment, others perceive the omission of this information as deceptive. The poster aims to offer clear guidelines and normalize this situation within the professional culture, promoting a relationship of trust and respect among colleagues.
Both initiatives reflect the FEPS Group's commitment to promoting bioethics, critical analysis of clinical practice, and improving professional culture in the healthcare field.
