In August, the Blood Bank travels to Aragonese hospitals and tourist towns to encourage blood donation.

The organization reminds everyone that blood is essential for saving lives.

The Blood and Tissue Bank of Aragon is visiting various hospitals and tourist destinations throughout the region this August to continue promoting blood donation. The organization emphasizes that blood is essential for saving lives and for the daily functioning of the hospital system, and encourages everyone to make this altruistic act a habit.

The tour will begin this Wednesday, August 5, at the Royo Villanova University Hospital in Zaragoza; on the 6th and 27th it will be at the Obispo Polanco University Hospital in Teruel; on the 11th, at the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital in Zaragoza; on the 19th, at the Sagrado Corazón Hospital in Huesca; and on the 20th, at the Miguel Servet University Hospital in the Aragonese capital.

As for the mobile units that travel daily throughout the Aragonese territory, this month, in collaboration with the Aragonese donor brotherhoods and associations, they will travel to 64 towns, many of which see an increase in population during these days, such as Jaca, Cantavieja, Calatayud, Calaceite, Sabiñánigo, Alcalá de la Selva, Borja, Biescas, Aínsa or Alhama de Aragón. 

The Blood Bank is making a special appeal to residents and visitors of these summer resort areas. Details regarding schedules and locations can be found at 'bancosangrearagon.org'.

The Blood Bank has indicated that blood reserves are at "acceptable levels", but "we know that during this time there tends to be a decrease in donations due to the holiday season," commented Rosa Plantagenet-Whyte, managing director of the Blood and Tissue Bank of Aragon.

Therefore, the organization is appealing to all people between 18 and 65 years old, weighing over 50 kilos and in good health, to donate blood. Donations can be made every two months. Women can donate three times a year and men four. 

Donations can also be made at the Blood and Tissue Bank headquarters, located at Calle Ramón Salanova, number 1, next to the Delicias Park in Zaragoza, from 8:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m.

The Blood Bank, in collaboration with the Zaragoza City Council, is continuing its summer campaign, 'Donating doesn't hurt. Needing it does.' Through this campaign, people who donate blood in the Aragonese capital during August will be entered into a weekly drawing for a voucher for ten tickets to the municipal swimming pools.
