ERC Starting Grants
13 July 2022New call “Research Consolidation” of the State Research Agency
15 July 2022The Carlos III Health Institute has presented the call for research projects in Precision Medicine, in which 3-year projects will be financed aimed at the development and clinical-care validation of Precision Medicine tools, biomarkers and procedures that allow improve prediction capacity and/or diagnostic, therapeutic or rehabilitative efficiency.
Given that the call closes in August, we would need to know before July 21 who is going to apply for the call, either as an individual project or as part of a multicenter project. We ask you to notify us at the email address projects@iisaragon.es.
The priority lines that will be financed are the following:
- Proof of concept and pilot projects for the validation and/or clinical implementation of omics technologies and precision nanomedicine, including their combination with other biomarkers such as medical imaging technologies, as an instrumental basis for the deployment of personalized health in the SNS. Projects may also be included in the final phases of development, as long as they include validation in the clinical-care field.
- Evaluation of clinical and economic impact, studies of variability in clinical practice, as well as the generation of other scientific evidence that contributes to supporting decisions in relation to the incorporation of Personalized Precision Medicine mechanisms and circuits in the SNS service portfolio. This priority line includes the evaluation of decision-making support tools in the use of advanced therapy medications with high economic impact, with special attention to antibody-based immunotherapy.
- Identification and analysis of the areas of application of Personalized Precision Medicine in Primary Care and the mechanisms aimed at promoting continuity of care through patient-centered clinical-care models.
The projects will have to focus on the following thematic areas:
a) Precision oncology,
b) Precision pharmacogenetics
c) Precision medicine applied to infectious diseases
d) Personalized precision medicine applied to the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases
e) Diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of pediatric pathologies of high complexity and low prevalence
f) Chronic pathologies in adults that require the combined use of data from multi-institutional scientific sources with existing data in the National Health System
g) Multiparametric monitoring based on the integration of lifestyle data, clinical information and genetic information with the aim of generating predictive models that allow the effective implementation of Precision Medicine.
h) Internal and external validation of technical (measuring devices) and/or biological (biomarkers measurable in biological samples) biomarkers of relevant exposures due to their frequency and/or importance
i) Validation, internal and external, of early clinical or biological events useful as early biomarkers of relevant diseases due to their frequency in the population
j) Algorithms for capturing information from the Primary and Specialized Care clinical history useful for capturing important health events in the follow-up of the IMPaCT cohort,
Presentation communication deadline: July 21 2022.
Call deadline: August 11, 2022, at 15:00 p.m., peninsular time.
