Rare diseases: when science organizes itself to leave no one behind
1 July 2026The objective is to offer grants for the recruitment of predoctoral research staff in training, under the predoctoral contract modality for the 2026-2030 period.
The grants will have a maximum duration of four years. However, if the doctoral degree has been obtained before the end of the maximum contract period, the grant will end on the last day of the month in which the doctoral thesis is defended. However, if an addendum to the predoctoral contract has been formalized for the postdoctoral orientation period, the grant will continue for its duration.
Predoctoral contracts will have a one-year duration, renewable for equal periods up to a maximum of four years, including any extensions, and will be full-time. The contract duration will be linked to continued enrollment in the doctoral program. The Call for Subsidies for the Recruitment of Predoctoral Research Staff in Training (Predoctorales DGA) 2026-2030 will be published shortly in the Official Gazette of Aragon.

The grants will have a maximum duration of four years. Predoctoral contracts will have an annual duration, extendable for equal periods of time up to a maximum of four years including extensions and with full-time dedication. The duration of the contract will be linked to permanence in the doctoral program.
Candidate Requirements:
- Having completed official studies in Bachelor's, Architecture, Engineering, Degree, Diploma, Technical Engineering or Technical Architecture, or equivalent in foreign University systems not adapted to the EHEA, in January 2022 or subsequently and always before the deadline for submitting data and documentation by predoctoral research staff in training on the PIP platform. Foreign degrees outside the EHEA must have obtained the homologation credential or the equivalence certificate.
- Having completed at least 60 ECTS credits of a university master's degree (certified by the unit responsible for the center that teaches the master's degree) or having completed the studies of the university master's degree or equivalent when necessary to obtain the 300 ECTS credits required, on the closing date for the submission of data and documentation by the predoctoral research staff in training on the PIP platform (July 31, 2026This master's degree must have been completed after obtaining the undergraduate degree that grants access to the doctoral program. The date of completion of studies for all purposes will be the date shown on the corresponding certificate.
- Be already enrolled in a doctoral school of the universities that carry out their activity in Aragon, or admitted or pre-admitted in a doctoral program of said universities from the course that begins in the year of publication of the call, and must be enrolled in the moment of formalization of the contract.
- Have a weighted average grade equal to or greater than 6 (on a scale of 0 to 10) in the complete academic record corresponding to the studies that lead to access to a doctoral program.
- Not possess a doctorate degree.
- Not be a beneficiary or have enjoyed aid, nor signed a predoctoral contract.
- Have legal residence in Spain.
Requirements of the director, and if applicable co-director, of the research:
- Possess a doctorate degree.
- Be linked by employment or by statute with the requesting center or organization. If the employment relationship is not permanent, the application must include a co-director who has such status.
- You can only appear as a director or co-director in an application.
