November 16, 2023On Wednesday, November 7, the First Aragonese Care Research and Innovation Conference was held, organized by the IIS Aragón and the Aragonese Health Service (SALUD), in which important conclusions were drawn that its organizers shared with us.
La I Aragonese Conference on Health Care Research and Innovation It was inaugurated on Wednesday, November 7 in the Muñoz y Fernández assembly hall of the Miguel Servet University Hospital in Zaragoza with the participation of more than 200 professionals from Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza.
Throughout this important event, more than 30 communications were presented across 5 thematic tables. Among those registered, it is worth highlighting the high participation with more than 200 professionals of different profiles, the majority being nurse, but also other professionals such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
The conference was inaugurated by the Minister of Health, José Luis Bancalero. During the course of the session, it was highlighted thatCare research must be carried out with data giving it a highly objective nature.. Always with the purpose of generating knowledge without forgetting the qualitative research that aims to know the essence of the “being” the recipient of our care, their expectations, emotions and experiences. It should never be forgotten that the purpose of research is to obtain evidence in order to transform and change the present, building a better future. This is always without neglecting the aforementioned recipient of our professional activity: the patient (whether healthy or sick).
In conclusion, at this meeting it became clear the role of research in care as a driver of change and as an instrument for improvement, always balancing between theoretical knowledge and practical application. In most of the experiences shown, the great capacity of professionals to adapt and develop care was seen. Thus, it became clear the resolution of problems that arise from the clinic and the application of innovative care in daily life.
The award for the best communication awarded by the COEZ, with the title of "Observational and descriptive study of vascular access devices and their complications", was for Ms. Nuria Herrero Cases and collaborators: Belén Fernández Castro, María Victoria Martín Arévalo, Aurelia Esther Viñuelas Laburta, Mº Carmen Ostáriz Cárcamo and Ana Vecino Soler.
As professionals – and also present and future patients – we must thank the organizers, the speakers and all the participants for showing us their professional experiences that help make a better world.
