A sea of struggle: Jorge Ibáñez swims across the Strait of Gibraltar for his friend with ALS
29 July 2025This is a new line of aid that the Government of Aragon is launching for the first time to transfer the results of scientific research to industry.
The call for grants for the hiring of agents for the valorization and transfer of scientific knowledge has been resolved, with a budget of €1 million. These are personnel specialized in promotion, valorization of research results, and entrepreneurship, who will be dedicated to supporting research centers so that science reaches the business community. This position, which did not exist until now, has been pioneered by the Government of Aragon.
Grants have been awarded that will allow the formalization of 15 two-year contracts for specialized personnel. These contracts have been granted to various registered knowledge transfer offices (OTC) of UNIZAR, USJ, CSIC Aragón, and technology centers such as CIRCE and ITA.
In addition, various institutes such as the I3A, the IA2, the ISQCH, the ICB and the INMA will also receive these grants to incorporate into their staff for two years people specialized in launching research results on the market or protecting them through patents or intellectual or industrial property contracts.
Likewise, grants have been awarded to Aragonese public research entities such as the IACS, CITA, IISA, the H2 Foundation, and the AITIIP Technology Center.
The objective of these grants is to foster greater cohesion within the Aragonese scientific ecosystem, as well as to further promote effective channels of cooperation and collaboration that allow knowledge to be shared between the public and private sectors, accelerating its transfer to the business sector.
All of this with the goal of transforming the knowledge generated by our scientific community into new solutions with social and economic impact.
