The III Conference on Research and Innovation Update, a key event to share advances in healthcare research and development in Sector Zaragoza II, began today in the Teaching Building of the Miguel Servet University Hospital.
The days, which will last until February 21, bring together experts from various specialties and are structured into four thematic tables focused on research and innovation in the healthcare field. Throughout the sessions, ongoing projects, new therapeutic strategies and technological advances applied to clinical practice are presented, both in Primary and Hospital Care. In addition, success stories developed by different professional categories are addressed, including physiotherapy, nursing and medicine, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of innovation in health.
It is analyzed the Impact of artificial intelligence on early diagnosis of diseases, new developments in therapeutic strategies for various pathologies or the role of digital solutions in optimising the treatment and monitoring of chronic pathologies, highlighting their contribution to more efficient and personalised care.
The opening ceremony was attended by the manager of Sector Zaragoza II, Dr. Patricia Palazón Saura, the scientific director of the IIS Aragón, Dr. Angel Lanas, and the president of the Research and Innovation Commission of Sector II, Dr. Silvia Izquierdo Alvarez.
"In this Third year, the sessions have focused on disseminating all those projects that are being carried out in clinical practice by professionals in Sector II,” said Dr. Silvia Izquierdo Álvarez during the inauguration. “With these sessions, we also hope to encourage all those registered to materialize those research ideas they have in mind, showing that projects can really be done.”
The event will culminate on February 21 at the Materno Infantil Hospital, with a day dedicated to healthcare innovation under the Beginn by Zinkinn program, sponsored by Roche Farma. In this session, successful experiences in the field of digital health, artificial intelligence and pharmacogenetics will be presented, as well as a debate on ethics in the application of AI in medicine.
The conferences have the Participation of representatives of the Government of Aragon, the Health Research Institute of Aragon (IIS Aragon) and the biomedical industry, highlighting the commitment to collaboration between professionals, researchers and companies for the continuous improvement of the healthcare system.
The sessions take place in in-person and streaming modality, allowing the attendance of a large number of professionals interested in learning about the latest advances in research and innovation.
