1 June, 2023This Tuesday, May 30, the Second Multiple Sclerosis Conference for Patients and Families was held at the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital in Zaragoza.
This Conference has been an excellent opportunity to learn about fundamental aspects of Multiple Sclerosis to improve the quality of life of patients and their environment. The Conference was inaugurated by the Deputy Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Mª Victoria Villaverde, and by Dr. Cristina Íñiguez, Head of the Neurology Service at the Lozano Blesa Hospital and Vice President of the Spanish Society of Neurology. The Conference has been organized by the IIS Aragón with the coordination of Dr. Cristina Íñiguez and Dr. Moisés Garcés, both members of the Neurology Service of the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital.
The conference's presentations have addressed Multiple Sclerosis from different points of view, dealing with general aspects and specific aspects of the disease such as its medical aspects, Multiple Sclerosis at extreme ages or how to lead a healthy lifestyle. The role of nurses has also been discussed and, with the participation of FADEMA (Aragonese Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis), comprehensive rehabilitation with the participation of physiotherapists and occupational therapists and the aid that patients and families can use. During the event, patients have also shared their realities and experiences with the other people attending the event.
