26 March, 2024Added to the sporting actions and thanks to the collaboration of the University of Zaragoza and from the IIS Aragón, Ejea and its towns will participate in the Gambling behavior prevention project in young people: GAMBL-OUT project
The “Stop Gambling” campaign will be, once again, the hallmark of the more than 67 hours of uninterrupted gaming that fans of this sporting discipline will experience.
From 28 al 31 March will occur XXVIII edition from Futsal Marathon "Villa de Ejea”. A total of 32 teams and four days full of futsal, competition and sportsmanship in which more than 300 participants make Ejea the epicenter of this discipline at the national level.
Furthermore, the presentation of the 32 equipment participants is linked to one of the most significant prizes awarded during the tournament, the team trend trophy “Marina López Nieto”.
El Ejea de los Caballeros Town Hall, as on previous occasions, will collaborate with this sports entity in the preparations for the competition by signing a collaboration agreement for the amount of 3.000 euros.
Stop Gambling Campaign
The Exea Futsal Championship continues in this edition with the hallmark of the Marathon through the 'Stop Gambling' social campaign', with which it promotes awareness among the youngest of the danger of sports betting. This year they will give a t-shirt to each participant with the image of this initiative.
The objective is to fight against gambling disorder, better known as gambling addiction, from a preventive approach and promoting sport as an example of a leisure alternative for younger people.
Added to the sporting actions and thanks to the collaboration of the University of Zaragoza and Aragon Health Research Institute (IIS Aragón), Ejea and its towns will participate in the Gambling behavior prevention project in young people: GAMBL-OUT project financed with European funds and promoted by the Ministry of Health. In addition, Ejea's collaboration in another project along the same lines, such as the Risk Gambling Detection Project: GAMBL-HID, whose financing has the support of the central executive. The coordination of both projects falls on the doctor in Psychology, Yolanda López del Hoyo, and the Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Zaragoza, Javier García Campayo, who, together with their team, work on the prevention of gambling consumption, generating mechanisms and guidelines for improving emotional well-being in the face of substanceless addictions in young people.
Thanks to the involvement of the Exea FS sports club, the local institutes with the entities already mentioned, the University of Zaragoza and the Health Research Institute of Aragón, Ejea y sus Pueblos, become a reference in the fight against gambling.
