More than a thousand schoolchildren from Teruel learn about vitamins from two young scientists

On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, this scientific activity was held on February 11 with researchers Rebeca Sanz and Raquel Ibáñez. The event took place at the Urrea de Gaén school and was followed online live in a total of 22 schools.

Infections by multi-resistant bacteria in Spanish hospitals could cause more than 20000 deaths a year

A study published in The Lancet Regional Health - Europe estimates that in 2023 there were 173 infections due to multi-resistant microorganisms in hospitals in Spain, with 653 associated deaths. The research reveals that the burden of this type of infections is significantly higher than expected.

The Aspanoa and IIS Aragón scholarship that allows Oncopediatrics to have one more doctor

With the aim of strengthening the medical team of the Aragón Pediatric Oncology Unit, as well as connecting the clinical part with research into the disease, Aspanoa and the IIS Aragón have been co-financing a grant for five years that has allowed the hiring, at different times, of three doctors: Yurena Aguilar, Alba Fernández and Ana Sangrós.

The first has already performed 415 operations in General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Urology and Gynecology. The Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital in Zaragoza put its first robot into operation in December 2024.
