AEG Scholarships 2026 – Spanish Association of Gastroenterology

The Spanish Association of Gastroenterology (AEG) has opened its 2026 scholarship program to support research projects in the digestive system and gastroenterology, with various grants aimed at promoting innovation, the advancement of young researchers and the humanization of healthcare.

Calls for proposals included:

• AEG Scholarship Gonzalo Miño (€20.000): for multicenter clinical or epidemiological studies in diseases of the esophagus, stomach, intestine, biliary tract or pancreas.
• Scholarship of the AEG Youth Group (€6.000): funding for young researchers with projects in gastroenterology.
• Scholarships from Work groups (€10.000 each):
  • Esophagus, Stomach and Duodenum.
  • Pancreas and Biliary Tract
  • Neurogastroenterology and Motility
  • Endoscopy
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (GETECCU Grant)
  • Digestive Oncology (Tamarite Fellowship)
  • Tamarite-AESPANC-ACANPAN against pancreatic cancer.
• Scholarship Fernández-Bañares (€6.000): funding and mentoring for emerging groups.
• Scholarship Humanization (€6.000): for projects that improve quality of life, humanize care, enhance the patient experience and/or incorporate the patient's perspective into care processes.

All grants are aimed at graduates affiliated with hospitals, universities, or other research or healthcare centers in Spain. Projects must focus on relevant topics in gastroenterology and meet the specific requirements of each grant, available on the AEG website.
